The Letchworth rugby family has been greatly saddened with the news that we have suffered our first fatality from the global pandemic of coronavirus.

Brian Sutton was a very popular member of the club and was frequently in attendance at our pre match lunches, often arranging tables to come up and support.

He was a senior project manager and very much an outgoing character, well known and respected throughout the Baldock social scene.

More importantly he was a true family man and we offer our deepest  condolences to Michelle and young Oliver as well as his brothers and sister. Also all his close friends and associates who will rightly mourn a life taken far too soon.

No doubt there will be more dark days to come before we come through this sad period in all our lives ... but come through them we will and I’m sure Brian would be the first to raise his glass of Rose and wish all of us the hope that we will beat this and come out the other side a sadder but maybe a wiser society and then we shall raise a glass to toast his life and his memory.

In the meantime our thoughts and best wishes are with Michelle and Oliver and all the others whose life he touched.
