Letchworth Garden City Rugby Club is proud to announce the launch of The 1924s — a bold new team identity as we expand our senior men’s offering. Set to compete in Counties 2 Hertfordshire (Level 8) for the 2025–26 season, The 1924s mark an exciting new chapter in the club’s competitive journey.
Named in honour of the year our club was founded, The 1924s celebrate Letchworth’s rich rugby heritage while offering a fresh and exciting opportunity for players looking to play competitive rugby, develop their game, and be part of something meaningful. With a dedicated coaching and leadership team, The 1924s will train and play with pride – combining the spirit of the club’s legacy with the ambition of its future.
Led by Adam Amos, Head Coach, the coaching team will be Steve Harper - Attacks/Backs Coach, Sam Moat - Defence/Forwards Coach, Mike Gray - Defence Coach, and with Kevin Lewis, Fitness Coach.
The coaching alignment and setup across all senior men’s squads will ensure player mobility, tactical consistency, and development opportunities for all involved. The belief in the vision and direction of the team reflects our growing community of support around senior men’s rugby at Letchworth.
Thursday training is a must, with Tuesday sessions also available to support player development, match readiness, and team selection. Fixtures will be regular and respected – giving players certainty, structure, and something to build toward each week.
