Letchworth Garden City Rugby Club will be proudly represented by nine senior players in the upcoming County Championship Final (Bill Beaumont Division 3) at the prestigious Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, on Sunday 22nd June at 13:00, as Herts take on Leicestershire.

The remarkable selection reflects the incredible season enjoyed by The Legends, who finished second in the highly competitive National League 5 (Regional 1 South East) — a campaign marked by commitment, skill, and unity on and off the field.

Senior Coach Baz Basra said: “It’s no less than this squad deserves. They’ve had a brilliant season, only narrowly missing out on top spot to an exceptional Oundle side. They’re a joy to coach. It’s especially satisfying to see both our outgoing captain Liam Fitts and incoming skipper Josh Sharp earn County selection — with Josh also leading the County team.”

Joining them in the County squad are forwards Luke Mongston, Tom Lewis, Josh Walker, and Conor Turner — the latter fresh from being named Most Improved Player at the club’s end-of-season awards. In the backs, Chris Gibbs, Richard Streets, and Will Titherington complete the powerful Letchworth contingent, bringing both pace and power to the County setup. Several other Legends may well have joined them if not for injury or unavailability — notably Charlie Parkhouse and club captain Oscar Robinson.

Hertfordshire’s run to the final has been nothing short of dominant:
07/05/25 – Herts 86–13 Buckinghamshire
24/05/25 – Middlesex 5–59 Herts
01/06/25 – Essex 7–45 Herts
07/06/25 – Dorset & Wilts 13–40 Herts

The final will be held at the Allianz Stadium, and promises to be a thrilling encounter between two talented sides.

Club President Brian Burke added: “This is a tremendous honour for Letchworth Rugby. We’ve never had this many players selected for County duty before, and it reflects the success and consistency of our senior setup over the past four seasons. Let’s hope Herts can go all the way and that our players continue to thrill as they have at Legends Lane.”

We encourage all supporters, families, and friends to head to Allianz Stadium on Sunday 22nd June to cheer on our players and Hertfordshire as they battle for County glory. Wear your black and amber and let’s make some noise!
