Your President is making a rare charitable appeal!
Many of you will know the Legend, that is Tim Moynihan… Great rugby genius, player, cricketer all round, sportsman, and damn decent bloke. Tim played top class rugby for Cambridge before becoming part of the great team of the noughties with the likes of Ed Rinnell Paul, Hughes and Giles Cook. Likewise, he skippered Ashwell for many a year in the summer game.
Socially, he is great fun to be with, and would always lend a hand at the club. It is noticeable since his retirement that stocks of Newcastle Brown remain untouched!
Sadly, several years ago Tim was diagnosed with that awful disease known as Parkinson’s, and in true spirit refuses to be daunted by it and is literally taking steps to fight it. Himself and some pals will be doing an 84 mile walk in a week on the Norfolk coast for the Parkinson’s charity and I urge everyone to support this with, however little or as much as they can. To start with, we shall be putting the proceeds of the Quiz evening on Friday to Tim's charity, as it is an affliction akin to MND. So even if you are not in a quiz time, pop up for the Quiz and raffle for a great microwave oven and other prizes. All the details of the walk and how to give our listed below so if you can’t make Friday, please do donate to a very worthy cause.

Norfolk Coastal Walk Challenge
Hopton-on-sea to Hunstanton 84 Miles - Three men, 2 dogs and a motley crew of support bods are planning to walk the Norfolk coast path at the beginning of March. We are doing this as a challenge and to raise money for the ‘Cure Parkinson’s Trust’.
We plan to walk the 84+ miles in a week, taking in the sights of this fantastic coastline and are hoping to raise over £1000 for our chosen charity. There will be an end of walk celebratory event on the 8th March and details will follow.
