Letchworth Rugby Club is pleased to share an important update from Sir Bill Beaumont and the RFU Board. Following a nationwide tour where the RFU engaged with over 500 people from 400 grassroots member clubs, referee societies, and national representative bodies, the RFU has outlined a clear plan to address key areas of concern and opportunity within the game.
In response to the feedback received, the RFU will take action in the following areas:
- Governance Reforms
- Financial Sustainability
- Continued Growth of the Community Game
- Reducing Administrative Burden
- Simplifying and Modernising Competition Structures
- Investment in Community Club Infrastructure
- Improving Communications
The RFU Board has also proposed a key resolution for members to vote on at the Special General Meeting on 27th March, aimed at expediting the Governance and Representation Review to give local areas more decision-making power. Sir Bill Beaumont encourages all member clubs to support the resolution for meaningful governance reform.
The attached documents provide further detail on the RFU’s track record, future focus, and the steps being taken to ensure the long-term health of the game:
