Elite rugby player Tom Jubb has called it a day on his professional playing career and is giving something back to the game by joining the coaching team under Baz Basra at his junior club, Letchworth Garden City.
A graduate of Oaklands Academy, Tom represented England at age group level, Saracens, Bedford, Coventry and Hartpury College … and of course to add to that impressive list as a callow youth he began his outstanding career at Letchworth Legends.
As a young man he absorbed the spirit of the game and has returned to his Alma Mater, putting his experience to good use at Legends Lane. He is the latest recruit in Letchworth’s push for promotion.
Past Hertfordshire President Graham Walker is delighted to welcome him. “Tom is from the era that produced Maro Itoje and Nick Isickwe. It was a regular pleasure for me to present them with awards as they towered over me. We are delighted to see him back at Letchworth and looking forward to the on pitch improvements he will bring”.
Baz Basra is assembling an excellent coaching set up to develop his talented young squad. Any aspirational players will be welcome to come and join the set up when rugby eventually recommences. Contact Graham on 07922 221599.
